Sales: Face Reading Skills That Can Change Your Life & Business
(Note: New Bonus Lab! Tuesday afternoon, opposite Roundtables)
The best complement to proper listening skills is understanding body language, which can say as much (or more!) than your mouth. This bonus Inspiration Lab will help you read faces and better utilize your own body language. Everyone is face reader from birth. Learn how to put these hidden skills to use in sales. Once you better understand facial gestures, you will see the link between face reading, personality profiles, and sales. The session will include a checklist to begin reading faces immediately, and sample readings that can help you zero in on instant improvements.

Designed as interactive working group sessions for the PEO "builder," these Inspiration Labs will be led by teams of facilitators appointed for their expertise. Roll up your sleeves and join fellow PEO colleagues for a practical drill-down into the tactics and strategies that help you overcome challenges and grow your PEO.
Risk Management: One Size Doesn't Fit All-Building Customized Loss Prevention Programs for Your Clients
House, cottage, or addition? Building the right size structure or expanding the existing structure is critical. This working group format will allow interaction between skilled and developing Risk Managers, Loss Control Directors, and Safety Specialists. Using standard best practices for loss prevention elements such as accident investigation, drug-free programs, effective pre-hire policies, post-accident reporting, and return-to-work programs, attendees will discuss their experiences and share key components of their own programs. Participants will gain insight into what their own PEO programs and policies need. Using the outline tool, they can build expandable models that allow them to design a risk management program that can grow with their business and evolve with their clients. Attendees should come prepared with their struggles and successes — and their implementation ideas.
Sales: Persuasive Listening: A Skill for Improved Sales and a Happier Life
This highly interactive and fun role play will open your ears to how to listen. We will teach interactive listening skills that can help you win a business relationship, "get to the no" sooner, and establish the trust that leads to future sales. See firsthand how implementing listening skills can over-power a pricing decision, how two words can open the door to a real relationship, and which strategies overcome invisible barriers. When a prospect feels understood, it is the foundation of making the sale and securing a long-term client relationship.
Human Resources/Legal/Benefits: Lawfully Managing Employee Leave in 2007
FMLA, the ADA and Workers' Compensation laws are challenging to administer independently, but when all three may apply, determining which rule or law takes precedence over another further complicates the matter. Using case scenarios, participants will work in interactive groups to analyze how to navigate this intricate maze of FMLA, the ADA, and Workers' Compensation laws. Included in the discussion will be recent legal developments regarding these interrelated laws, practical steps to better manage employee leave, and strategies for controlling employee leave while complying with the law.
CEO/Management: Leveraging HR Value to Build Market Share: Exploring the HR Value Proposition with David Ulrich
Learn how to quantify HR value, build a culture of innovation, and manage with more efficiency. This interactive workshop with keynote speaker David Ulrich will explore how to harness talent, capabilities, accountability and discipline. Accounting: NAPEO Survey Results: How They Can Improve Your PEO's Market Share
Join NAPEO's Accounting Practices Committee as they demonstrate how NAPEO's latest industry financial ratio results can be applied in mapping out your PEO's financial future. Join the group for a case study discussion using a budgeting and forecasting model to examine the factors that impact profitability in a PEO. You'll gain a better understanding of how to use industry ratios to benchmark your operations and identify opportunities to improve your PEO's financial performance going forward.
Government Affairs: Government Affairs and the PEO Industry: The Profitability Nexus
Few industries face the PEO's potential perils of onerous regulations, much less face the same dramatic impact to their profitability and viability. In response, many PEOs are designating a "C-level" individual to have responsibility for government affairs issues. This interactive session will offer interactive training as well as provide information and tools PEOs can leverage to assist in creating a positive regulatory environment for their company.
