Regulatory Initiatives
An essential aspect of NAPEO's proactive government affair initiative is engaging an array of national organizations that discuss, develop and/or implement public policy approaches (i.e., model laws and regulations) that impact the PEO industry. NAPEO's active participation in these organizations produces a number of benefits to the PEO industry generally and individual members specifically by:
- Ensuring public policy guidance to the states is as favorable as possible to PEOs;
- Developing relationships with legislators and regulators that can be helpful when working on legislation or regulation;
- Identifying and addressing problematic regulatory trends as well as agendas of opposition groups before they gain widespread support at the state-level;
- Building and leveraging coalitions of employer and business groups that have similar position on issues; and
- Raising general awareness of issue with stakeholder groups that are important to the long-term profitability and viability of the PEO industry.
