NAPEO's government affairs mission is to create and cultivate a legislative and regulatory climate in all 50 states that is hospitable to PEOs and positions the PEO industry for continued growth. The following map represents NAPEO's government affairs activities on a state-by-state basis.
The maps below indicate the state-by-state expansion of legal and operational certainty for the PEO industry. Expanded legal certainty for PEOs in the states has a multitude of benefits to the industry. PEOs’ rights have been codified under numerous state statutes and this directly correlates with increased small business acceptance and expanded markets. Other advantages to legal certainty include preservation of PEO authority in the areas of workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance, and benefits. NAPEO’s commitment has never been stronger to ensuring state-level operational environments that provide for profitability and the long-term viability of the industry.
