The regular session of the California Legislature adjourned without final action on AB 2570. Discussions with key state agencies and stakeholder groups continued right until the end of the session, however the bill was not agreed to by all necessary parties in time for final legislative consideration. However, the Governor is expected to call one or more special legislative sessions before the end of the year, during which there may be an opportunity for consideration of PEO legislation.

NAPEO will be working with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CLDE) to address issues related to the agencys administration of unemployment insurance. Several PEOs have brought forward concerns with the manner in which the CDLE has interpreted and implemented several PEO-specific statutory provisions. NAPEO members should forward any unemployment insurance questions, issues or concerns to Kara Marshall at kmarshall@napeo.org. NAPEO will work to address these issues with the CDLE.
