Sept. 24, 2015, Alexandria, VA — The National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO) today announced that Abram Finkelstein, founder and president of StaffLink Outsourcing in Plantation, FL, was elected chair of the board of directors at the association’s annual meeting in Phoenix. He succeeds Brent Tilson, president and CEO of Greenwood, IN-based Tilson HR.

“Abram is the perfect choice to serve as NAPEO chair during this critical year, as we prepare for next year’s implementation of the Small Business Efficiency Act (SBEA) and stand on the precipice of significant growth as an industry,” said NAPEO President and CEO Pat Cleary. “Abram Finkelstein is a smart and serious leader who has been a part of the PEO industry for a long time, and I look forward to an exciting and productive year under his leadership.”

Finkelstein founded StaffLink in 1997, and has been actively involved in the PEO industry since 1994. He has been a leader in NAPEO for many years, serving on its Board of Directors in addition to various committees, including the Legal Advisory Council and the Federal Government Affairs Committee. Finkelstein has served on the Board of Directors of the Florida Association of Professional Employer Organizations since 1995 and was an officer of the association from 1997 to 2008. He also serves on the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Board of Employee Leasing Companies.

“In the coming year, I’ll be focused on taking the outstanding gains our industry has made and continuing to further define and develop them,” Finkelstein said. “We have a great story to tell, so now is the time for us to become more engaged in issues that are important to our membership and our industry, and promote the benefits of PEOs to small businesses and legislators on the federal, state, and local levels.”

Finkelstein received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Miami School of Law and served as the Executive Editor of the Business Law Journal. Finkelstein is also an avid aviation enthusiast and holds an airline transport pilot license.
