NAPEO's 2017 New York Leadership Council Forum

Jun 27, 2017
Location:

The University Club of Albany
141 Washington Ave, Albany, NY 12210

Join NAPEO's New York Leadership Council Forum at The University Club of Albany from 10:00am-2:00pm on June 27.

Heather MacMaster, Deputy General Counsel, Workers' Compensation Board, will address the group.

Tim Sheridan of the Capitol Group, LLC will provide an overview of New York’s political landscape which will include workers’ compensation reform, paid family leave, and the state run retirement plan proposal.

NAPEO is currently tackling two issues in New York that will be discussed at the meeting. The Department of Financial Services issued a letter that characterized a PEO with physician clients as a joint employer, and stated the PEO would need a medical license. NAPEO is working to educate agency regulators about the unique nature of PEO relationships so that PEOs with physician clients are not deemed joint employers.

NAPEO continues to work with the Department of Labor to revise a DOL FAQ document on New York’s state minimum wage which implies that co-employment is joint employment.

Stay tuned for an updated agenda and more details. Don’t miss this important industry gathering!
