COVID-19 Acknowledgement & Release

Over the past several months, NAPEO membership has been loud and clear: you want an in-person Annual Conference & Marketplace, despite COVID-19.

The good news is that NAPEO has been authorized by the Board of Directors to move forward with the conference—with adequate safeguards in place to keep our participants safe.  The bad news is that, despite these safeguards, NAPEO cannot guarantee that you will not contract COVID-19 at the conference.

Accordingly, we must ask that you acknowledge this risk and release NAPEO from liability relating to COVID-19.  Otherwise, we will not be able to welcome you in San Antonio.

All NAPEO 2021 Annual Conference & Marketplace attendees will be required to agree to this COVID release onsite in order to be admitted to the conference.

I, the undersigned, as a participant at NAPEO's 2021 Annual Conference & Marketplace at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort and Spa, San Antonio, TX (the Conference), being of sound mind and body, acknowledge and agree as follows:
1. That COVID-19 is a highly transmittable coronavirus that can cause serious health conditions, which in some cases can be fatal;
2. That the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (together with its employees, agents, and representatives, collectively referred to herein as "NAPEO") has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 at the Conference;
3. That in spite of these measures, NAPEO cannot guarantee that I will not be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 while attending the Conference;
4. That, knowing the above, it is my sole and voluntary decision to attend the Conference and, in doing so, I assume the risk of being exposed to or infected by COVID-19 while attending the Conference, regardless of any actions or inactions of NAPEO;
5. That NAPEO does not and cannot control unofficial events held by third parties that are ancillary to the Conference and so I accept full responsibility for my attendance at such;
6. That I hereby knowingly and voluntarily release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless NAPEO from and against any and all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating to my exposure to or contraction of COVID-19 while attending the Conference; and
7. That my agreement to these terms is a material condition of my attendance at the Conference and if I do not agree to such then I will not be allowed entrance to or attendance at the Conference.
